FAA Part 107 Licensed Drone Pilot

A documentary memoir created by Alex Edwards, following his mom Colleen as she relearns her life after memory loss—exploring identity, resilience, and what remains when memory becomes uncertain.

Before I Get Sillier Trailer.mov

Before I Get Sillier is a documentary Alex is making about his mom, Colleen—a woman whose life has been shaped by reinvention, resilience, and an evolving sense of what matters.

After a sudden medical crisis in her fifties left her with memory loss and a rare neurological condition, Colleen was forced to relearn her own life while continuing to live it. The film follows how she makes sense of her world now—through fragments of memory, daily routines, and a determination to remain independent as uncertainty has become part of everyday life.

What begins as a way for Alex to document his mom’s story becomes something more: an attempt to understand a life that extends far beyond his perspective, and one that continues to shift in ways neither of them can fully predict.

It’s a film about memory, identity, and the persistent ways people hold onto themselves as everything changes.

Premiere at The Loft Cinema in Tucson
